youtube-tools — last updated 26 August 2026.
Who runs this application
youtube-tools is operated by the site owner as a personal tool for managing his own YouTube channel, Cosmic Gamer YCH. It has no other users and is not offered to the public.
What data the application accesses
The application signs in with the owner's own Google account and uses the YouTube Data API and the YouTube Analytics API. It requests the following permissions:
| Scope | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
youtube |
Manage the owner's own videos, playlists and subscriptions. |
youtube.upload |
Upload the owner's own finished episodes. |
youtube.force-ssl |
Upload subtitle tracks, and read and post comments on the owner's own videos. |
yt-analytics.readonly |
Read view and subscriber statistics for the owner's own channel. |
The data touched is limited to the owner's own channel: his videos, their metadata and subtitles, comments left on them, his subscription list and his channel statistics.
How the data is used and stored
The scripts run locally on the owner's own computer. Data fetched from the APIs is used only to prepare and publish his videos and to answer comments on them, and is kept in local files and a local database on that computer. The OAuth token is stored locally in a file readable only by the owner's account.
What is not done with the data
- It is never sold, rented or traded.
- It is never shared with third parties, and it is not transferred to any server operated by this application — there is no such server.
- It is not used for advertising, profiling or training machine-learning models.
- No data belonging to any other person's Google account is accessed.
Google user data and Google API Services
Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Local data is kept only as long as it is needed for the channel's own archive and can be deleted at any time by deleting the local files. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which invalidates the stored token immediately.
